text HAMISH ARMSTRONG MILLER — translation EDEN ROUX

When ink blooms in a cloud upon hitting paper, it casts a shadow on an immaculate background. A love-letter to the written word, this fragrance celebrates the musings and imagination of the artist.

The inkwell shaped bottle reminds us the perfume is a font from which inspiration can be drawn, and as pigment dries on the freshly-covered page, as does its fragrance change with the passage of time, notes of white musk evolving and shifting, weaving through the air, like so many unfurling curves upon a blank sheet.

An accord of blonde woods, serving as a sober, welcoming backdrop, with overtones of white musk pervade the scent’s profile, giving an impression of rice vapor, outlining the crispness of fresh paper. A flowering of mimosa wafts through, with the honeyed, floral intonations of a plant that exudes the sunshine of its origin, the city of Grasse, where it has been cultivated since the golden age of French literature.

L’Eau Papier then, is an ode to the great works of fiction that have shaped our culture and what it means to be human and as such, aspires to the same immortality a fame that only an artist can truly bring. An instant classic then, and time will tell if this invention will be passed on to future generations.
